PIGMENTED (OR FINISHED) LEATHER
Pigmented leather is obtained by spraying one or more layers of pigment onto the surface. This causes the pores to close, limiting the ability to exchange air and moisture with the environment. Consequently, pigmented leather is very strong, easy to maintain and lightfast.

One material,
infinite benefits

We use hides of bovine origin in our production processes, which differ depending on the sex and age of the animal. There are approximately 1.5 billion cattle and more than 500 different breeds in the world.

The components of the hide

Bovine hide can be identified by its location on the animal’s front, rear, or side.
The hides of the animal are thicker and more robust in the front, whereas those from the rear and sides are thinner and smoother.

B – Neck
C – Head
D – Side
Potential deficiencies
Bovine skins may exhibit a variety of defects. Imperfections that may impact the aesthetic quality of the final product but also provide insight into the animal from which they originate. Examples include insect bites, stretch marks that develop after calving, fire branding (primarily in the United States), and skin lesions such as scratches and minor lacerations that cattle sustain while out to pasture. Furthermore, variations in the density of epidermis fibers can result in irregularities in texture and color.
